The Age of Miracles by Karen Thompson Walker tells the story of an eleven year old girl named Julia who wakes up to discover an apocalyptic event unfolding known as "The Slowing." Everyone around her discovers the days are growing longer, gravity is affected, and the overall environment is starting to change. Along with Julia's surroundings starting to change for the worst she is always dealing with struggles in her everyday life such as problems between her parents, losing her closest friend, her first love with a boy named Seth, and the unexplained behavior of her grandfather. Julia and her loved ones embark on a roller coaster of events and struggle to adapt.
