Summary: Chapters 31-34
31.They woke up the next morning with sunburns and Julia says that sunburns are the worst things in there lives. Her mom was horrified when she got home. That same morning and moving van appeared at Sylvia’s house. Her mother would call her father over and over again but her wouldn’t pick up. She called the hospital and he wasn’t there.
32.A dog showed up to her grandpa’s house and he was digging at a piece of metal that was half buried in the dirt behind the woodpile and it was a risky trapdoor. Her father filling showed up. The police go in the trapdoor and see things all over the floor. Then there it was her grandpa’s body. He died the same day of her birthday and he was dressed for dinner and they found a birthday card and a twenty dollar bill that had a note with it that says happy birthday, Julia. God bless.
33.It rained on the day they buried her grandpa. Seth was sick for weeks. May was the months the earthquakes began. Then it was June. Her father started to care more for her mom. She never saw Sylvia again. Seth seemed fine again. He started to bleed from his nose but then it stopped. In August, Seth and Julia were hanging out when all of a sudden Seth started to have a seizure. Seth spent the night in the hospital. One day Seth told Julia that they were moving to Mexico. She never heard from Seth ever again.
34.Her mother continued to teach part-time at the high school. Her father keeps working at the hospital. She still imagines that one day Seth will come back to her.
